Cisco NIM-4E/M

The Cisco NIM-4E/M is a Network Interface Module (NIM) designed for use with Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISRs). It provides four Ethernet ports and four E&M (Ear and Mouth) ports, hence the name NIM-4E/M. The Ethernet ports can be used for connecting to Ethernet-based networks, such as local area networks (LANs) or wide area networks (WANs). The E&M ports, on the other hand, are used for connecting to analog voice circuits, typically used for voice communication over traditional telephony networks.
